Illness & Scarlet Fever Case Reported

15th Dec 2023

We have a lot of poorly boys & girls at the moment and to help everyone be on top form for Christmas please be aware that within the local community there has been an increase in Covid, RSV and within the school we have one reported case of scarlet fever.  Please let us know of any illness via this message so we can inform other parents who may have vulnerable members within their families and can therefore make the decision to come to school or not.

To help support parents and carers with what to look out for and what to do if their child becomes unwell the PHA have produced some information in the form of a leaflet and factsheet.

There is also a link below to the PHA website where the resources can be found.

As figures are reported to be high within the community again we ask that you are vigilant of the signs of COVID-19 or scarlet fever.  The day the child test positive or show symptoms is Day Zero - then they must remain off school for 3 days and can return on the fourth day IF the have NO TEMPERATURE & ARE IN GOOD FORM.

Please find attached the latest guidance regarding COVID-19 - to help us remain open we must continue to be aware of the symptoms of COVID-19 and ask that you share with us immediately if your child has any symptoms or tests positive.

You can contact the school on 02844614682 (8.30 - 4.00), email us at conventofmercyns.com

Please remember:

Children who test positive must isolate for 3 days from testing positive or displaying the symptoms listed below:

If the test is negative with no temperature and they are in good form they can return. If they have tested negative yet have a temperature, any vomiting or diarrhoea they must stay at home.
