Current COVID-19 Guidance

We have had an additional two positive case of COVID-19 reported in Mrs McCoys class (16th January 2023). As figures are reported to be high within the community again we ask that you are vigilant of the signs of COVID-19 or scarlet fever.  The day the child test positive or show symptoms is Day Zero - then they must remain off school for 3 days and can return on the fourth day IF the have NO TEMPUTURE & ARE IN GOOD FORM.

Please find attached the latest guidance regarding COVID-19 - to help us remain open we must continue to be aware of the symptoms of COVID-19 and ask that you share with us immediately if your child has any symptoms or tests positive .

You can contact the school on 02844614682 (8.30 - 4.00), email us at conventofmercyns.com

Please remember:

Children who test positive must isolate for 3 days from testing positive or displaying the symptoms listed below:

(Symptoms of respiratory infections including COVID-19 - Source nidirect.gov.uk)

  • continuous cough
  • high temperature, fever or chills
  • loss of or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell
  • shortness of breath
  • unexplained tiredness, lack of energy
  • muscle aches or pains that are not due to exercise
  • not wanting to eat or not feeling hungry
  • headache that is unusual or longer lasting than usual
  • Sore throat, stuffy or runny nose
  • diarrhoea
  • feeling sick or being sick

To avoid unnecessary absences - we have the option of staying off for the three day or taking a lateral flow test.  If the test is negative with no temperature and they are in good form they can return. If they have tested negative yet have a temperature, any vomiting or diarrhoea they must stay at home.

If a child has diarrhoea or vomiting they must not return until 48hrs since the last episode.
